Melody Edens opened her trendsetting full-service salon in the historical Monte Vista area of San Antonio in 2010. She is perhaps most proud of her salon’s unparalleled credentials within her city as ‘the only salon in San Antonio that is completely American Board Certified’. Melody and her team members have all earned the prestigious national honor of being ‘American Board of Certified Haircolorists’ (ABCH) for their exemplary technical and design skills.
As a salon owner and working professional for 34 years, Melody has always been known for ‘M-powering’ her clients with her beautiful signature custom cuts and color. Her salon is based on the philosophy that each client is listened to and offered the highest quality skills and service. Above all, clients always experience the look and feel of healthy, shining hair. Melody and her team’s penchant for hair quality perfection is clear, never compromising the natural health and integrity of the hair just for the sake of fashion trends. Bottom line, clients at the Melody Edens salon enjoy the best of all worlds!
Reaching out into the community to support local causes and charities is high priority for Melody. Close to her heart, for example, is the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), which she and her salon have supported for the past several years. The Melody Edens Salon has supported the NOCC’s San Antonio Chapter events since 2012 by making donations, exhibiting and participating in local activities and fundraising events. Most recently, the salon supported the October 2016 ‘Break The Silence’ Run/Walk by being a ‘Teal Partner’ Sponsor, by raising awareness and funds among clients, by donating a silent auction beauty gift basket of Melody Edens’ signature hair care products and cosmetics, and by running in the event.
In addition to owning her own successful salon business, Melody is also the founder of her own signature hair care/styling products and ‘melody‘ cosmetic lines. She also inspires her team and herself to pursue the ongoing advanced education available to them within and outside the professional beauty industry. Melody herself is a member of the respected national group of business entrepreneurs called Inspiring Champions, and shares the group’s exemplary business management and motivational philosophy and procedures with her staff. Within her industry, Melody has served as a Board Member for the International Haircolor Exchange. She has also studied at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, as well as studying with such industry celebrity leaders as Beth Minardi in New York. Melody is a former educator for Redken.
